The AI Black Hole

The US economy as one star system, on real data. The Federal Reserve shines over everything; the AI money loop orbits the black hole; households, industries and banks circle further out; global trade sits at the edge. Every line is a real flow of money, goods or policy. The more pressure on a player, the closer it is pulled in.

How it works

Everything here is real data; nothing is simulated or forecast. A daily snapshot written by Claude brings the Fed’s rates, balance sheet, inflation and jobs data, credit spreads and yields (FRED), grid demand (EIA), power and gas prices, drought at data-center hubs (US Drought Monitor), funding and credit news, and Claude’s per-player analysis and news tone. When this page runs from the local live server, it also streams delayed stock quotes and 5-minute grid data. Each pressure score (0–100) starts from a baseline set by sourced facts about that player, then moves with its stock price versus its 1-year high, credit spreads, the news tone and, for the grid, power prices and drought. The AI data-center footprint is an estimate scaled from Berkeley Lab’s figures, not a measurement. Pressure and fear & greed scores are a model built from public data: not forecasts, and not financial advice.
